LLT M14 4Pin Panel

LLT waterproof M14 connector (readily available from Aliexpress – search for M14 connector, check for the LLT logo)

Sealing caps are available, waterproof cable plug backshell, seals at connector interfce, seals on panel connector, inline cable and panel.

We use this connector for industrial sensors.

Common Pin Numbers – IIC Port (4 Pin) – used for low power IIC Sensor Probes

Pin # Use Colour
1 SDA White
2 SCL Yellow
3 0V Black
4 +V Red

Any Sensor Probe Cable Shield is connected to Pin 3 0V Black
Sensor probes may include IIC EEPROM – refer Device SCH and DOCs

Common Pin Numbers – PT100 3Wire (4 Pin Connector)

Pin # Use Colour
1 PT100 – 1 White *
2 PT100 – 2 Red *
3 PT100 – 3 Red *
4 Shield Shield

* depending on PT100 cable used, we commonly fabricate sensors with PTFE / PTFE / Shield, where the conductors are white/red/red.

contact us for further information on PT100 temperature sensor probes and fabrication.

Common Pin Numbers – RS485 Modbus Port (6 Pin)

Pin # Use Colour 5Core
1 RS485 A Yellow Yellow
2 RS485 B White White
3 RS485 0V Grey Brown
4 PWR +V Red Red
5 PWR 0V Black Green
6 Chassis Screen

The 5Core is a trailer cable, no shield, sheathed
Suitable for short RS485 cable lengths and small systems

Otherwise use a twisted 100R pair for the RS485 A,B conductors
Terminate the twisted 100R pair at the ends of the cable
Use with an adequately rated power pair for a distributed system

If using Cat5e cable, we use (wire colours by EAI/TIA T568A)

LLTM14-6
Pin #
Wire Use RJ45
Pin #
1 Green/White RS485 A 1
2 Green RS485 B 2
3 Orange/White RS485 0V 3
5 Blue PWR 0V 4
5 Blue/White PWR 0V 5
3 Orange RS485 0V 6
4 Brown/White PWR +V 7
4 Brown PWR +V 8

Cat5e patch cable (4 pairs sheathed) conductor resistance should be less than 0.188R/m.

Using POE for guidance (13W POE), we suggest using 24V or 48V for the PWR source, and limiting current to less than 350mA.

A RXEF030** on both the PWR 0V and PWR +V at the power source might be a low cost solution worth considering. At 300m of cable, 300mA load, expect a round trip voltage drop of ~17V. (31V @ 300mA at the load ~10W) We recommend the use of isolated RS845 interfaces.
